S&@t Doesn't Smell Like Roses in Europe: Culture Shock

Y'all knew that I had to bring out my honesty sooner or later that although things are going great culture shock has definitely shown its face and rear end. So here is a list of things I've found odd, awkward, false stereotypes and misconceptions or just good ole fashioned ridiculous. 1. Break Hours (Siesta) This has been one of the harder things for me to adjust to because I'm so used to having things available constantly on a consistent schedule when I need them and for most Americans its a little bit annoying because you don't know if you should sleep or how to plan your day especially if you're a super planner like me. Nevertheless, with practice it's something that can be easily overcome. 2. IT'S NOT AS HEALTHY AS YOU THINK At least to my experiences, places here are not that much more healthy. LITERALLY, McDonalds is like the biggest thing since white bread here. Hoards of people go to these "restaurants" and dine like they actually deserve to be treated as restaurants its like a whole social thing. It's also kind of hard to find all those green juices and smoothies we like to eat from like a whole foods store or health shop. There are markets though! Some people actually are active but yes there are overweight people here. If someone doesn't work out they SMOKE which to me is worse than all the negative above. Smoking just degrades the body's function and efficiency, effectively killing off your body's own healthy cells. 0 tolerance for that. So with US, Britain, and Mexico topping the scales some of we can rest assured that no country really has it figured out. Maybe Japan?? 3. Nightlife Hmmm I'm notorious for not going out but that's only because I'm picky as Hell and in my mind I belong at the outings with Jay-Z not the dude with no arm asking for weed. There! I have admitted it we all know I have a tendency to be a bit ..confident.. :) Nevertheless, what Spain has done, in at least the areas we frequent, it's put everything on the street, lit up about 100 or so cigarettes, alcohol galore, and it's taken away the only thing that keeps me entertained, GREAT MUSIC, A BEAT, AND A DANCE FLOOR! WTF? aintnobodygottimefadat NO! Then, the only places really adequate enough are filled with Americans..hmm who would have known lol. Now I understand. It is not your fault majority of white Americans it is your European ancestors that just never decided to get rhythm. Looking into a club sometimes can be like opening a freezer door it's cold, a little bit dry, and everything in it is just stuck. They need some oil like the tinman.

4. Music I am not wholly sure if music is released later over here but damn I can't stand to hear songs from a year ago played over and over again. None of the songs are popping and I wouldn't mind to hear more Spanish influence but it seems that there is a slight obsession with all American entertainment. They watch more American shows than we do..dubbed in Spanish..Oy vey
