Power of Thought

Writer's picture: undefined

Hey!! So it's been a while since I've given some advice and I am so ready to welcome you back into some of my many practices. I recently (at the end of my Eur-African voyage) began to really believe and practice the power of thought. It sounds kind of joojoo-ish but I assure you its nothing but truth. I believe that we all have the ability to manifest our reality, our destiny, and realize our potentials and our dreams if we can harness the power of the thought.

Don't you hate when everything is going wrong and people tell you think positive!? I know I do but I can tell you here and now that it's possible. You can think yourself into happiness just as much as you can think yourself into depression. It's harder for us to think ourselves into happiness because we live in a mostly pessimistic world and find comfort and relation in speaking to the negativities of our lives.

Why do we do that? We do that because we believe that people will relate to us more if we are self deprecating or if we can visibly show that our lives are as simplistic and eventless as anyone else's. We believe that no one likes when someone's life seems to be going great while many others struggle. We build strength and complacency in knowing that if we struggle that it's necessary to be belittled and "owned" by it. My belief and practice is that this is all rubbish.

The truth of the matter is that when you are your true and authentic self, you attract all of the things and people that our necessary for the journey we call life. We all have a path and a trajectory that we neglect when we are overcome with negative attitudes and energy. If you have people that don't want to be around you when you are elated with life then drop them. If someone can't appreciate your journey then they are irrelevant. If anything or anyone tries to impede on your growth and blocks you from your natural progression attack it!

Here is your homework:

1. Control the thought - you can choose to think negatively or you can choose to find something to pull you through it all. Focus on a grander moment to give you strength, relief, and laughter. No matter if everything seems to be neglectful you can say that the experience you have is unique to you and only the greatest of the greats are greatly tried.

2. Get active - nothing can change your body chemistry (changing the flow of endorphins) like a good workout or run. A run can be freeing and liberating. Try some fight tactics to get out some aggression.

3. Center your energy - there are so many ways to do this. We are all energy and you can center yourself in so many ways. For example, that humming noise you hear from Buddhist monks creates a vibration in the mouth where there is heavy innervation and vascularization. This changes blood flows and can be relaxing. You can pray, meditate, or whatever connects you to the center of self - to that natural state.

4. Stay in the now - we have this moment, this second, and not much else can be determined. The past can not be re-written. Get into that wolverine state and stay in the now.
