By the end of 2013, I had learned that my greatest accomplishments of that year all came from my desire and attraction to taking chances. So, I decided that 2014 would be the year to take chances. I believe that I did not falter in this mission. I also learned that everyday isn't about being the greatest but having victory. The important thing to remember is that small victories can have a profound effect on your future. As I close this chapter, I reflect on the many mini accomplishments, victories, and triumphs I've had this year:
1. My physical revolution. My health journey, for me, has been beautiful. It's had it's ups and downs but my intention this year was to get out of the teen body fat percentage and I did go from 15-16% to 10-11. The struggle was immense due to a lot of plateaus; however, right at the end of the year, I can see the light. I have to thank Jillian Michaels of course.
2. I did graduate university.
3. I had some awesome film experiences that have been immensely inspiring and have introduced me to some amazing. In particular, I couldn't have imagined better people to spend time with before the crack of dawn and for 12 hours straight on a movie set than Sarah and Cushena. Awesome people and Cushena has definitely been a Godsend since in being a great motivator for my future and igniting my passions and self belief.
4. I read El Alquimista (The Alchemist). I love this book.
5. I fostered a lot of growth mentally, personally, and emotionally in the kids I've tutored. They ALL are on the all A honor roll and constantly get high marks.
6. I instilled confidence in a kid with dyslexia. When we met he couldn't even understand rhyming sounds but now he can read words with at least 3 syllables and recognizes sight words much more easily.
7. A child that was not very cultured now greets me in Spanish and has learned quite a few words and facts about foreigners and the languages they speak.
8. My Russian has improved ten-fold. I am able to write sentences now and that was kind of difficult. I read faster and comprehend more. Я ИЗУЧАЮ РУССКИЙ ЯЗЫК! Мне нравится культура!
9. I got over my reverse culture shock. Took long enough.
10. I developed deeper relationships with people that really matter.
11. I became a lot more appreciative of life and the smaller things. I began to notice that there is godliness in everything from the sands to insects and to every individual.
12. I realized more than ever before my role in this world, what I want from it, and how I will reach it.
NOW, I want to see your lists..
