I personally love watching people get so amped about sports. I usually am pretty confined to my love of tennis but ever so often (especially every four years) I become a bit of a sports head. So, I often hear discussions about how this athlete is the best of all-time or this one is better than this one etc. Usually this is a thing that happens it basketball if I'm really trusting the multitude of Facebook posts. I did my homework. Let's find out who the most dominant athlete is; in relativity of course.
Let's start with the MVP. Lebron James had an FG% of 52.5 for this past season. That means he makes about half of the shots he goes for. This was enough to win MVP while Steph Curry had an FG% of 46. This is all great but our most dominant athlete achieves about 90% of the points they go for.
Serena Williams just became the highest-paid female athlete in the world! (Of course after Maria Sharapova's slight downfall do to doping read about that here) Serena is undoubtedly the greatest server in women's tennis, ever. But, compared to our most dominant athlete; Serena would have to not serve a double fault for the entire duration of a major. That's just how "error free" our most dominant athlete is.
Steph Curry is nothing to ignore. He has been named season MVP for the years of 2015 and 2016. However, our most dominant athlete has won the top world championship in 2013, 2014, and 2015. That would be the equivalent of 3 rings.
Behind every great athlete, sometimes is a great team. They're just as dominant. This most dominant athletes team is actually their greatest competition as well. Essentially, this is the same as if you were to put Ronaldo and Messi on the same team. This also means that if Ronaldo were to take a leave of absence from the team. This dominant team is still the top ranked team to win every world championship and gold in the Olympics.
Peyton Manning, you're awesome. If you don't believe me, look at these statistics for records held by Peyton Manning. All good things. If you have followed his journey it has been a long one, spanning 18 years. 18 years. He probably could have taken this title but our most dominant athlete has broken about as many records in about 3 years. This year will probably be another one for the record books.
No more waiting......The most dominant athlete is..........
Simone Biles
When it comes to artistic gymnastics, Simone Biles has rewritten all the rules. She doesn't fall. She's implemented difficulty never performed before. She's been able to reach heights on vault higher than her male contemporaries. She has 14 world medals. That's more than any other American in history. She has won the all-around gold for the past 3 world championships. She has to potential to win 5 gold medals in Rio! Even when her competitors are at their best, they still can't beat her. Did I mention she doesn't fall. This is major in gymnastics. Watch her and you'll see. She holds the record for most gold medals at world competition and not only that but her team has also won the team finals for the past what? four years?! Go red white and blue. Go Simone. Go Team USA. There you have it folks.
